Firmware / Electronics Scientist

Open-ended contract through Manpower

Location : Neuchâtel / HO
Position Purpose:

Drive PMI’s innovation agenda by scouting, evaluating, and integrating emerging technologies, up to Proof of Feasibility/ Proof of Concept. Lead scientific research, deliver emerging technologies foresights that accelerate and support PMI’s smoke-free transformation.

Key Accountabilities:

– Identify and assess innovative technologies and solutions, aligned with PMI’s future technology priorities.

– Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments for new solutions.

– Manage open innovation challenges and collaborative projects.

– Lead research and foresight programs with external partners.

– Prepare technical briefs and maintain accurate documentation and reporting.

– Promote adoption of open innovation frameworks and best practices across teams.

Core Competencies:

– Strong technical background.

– Analytical and problem-solving capability.

– Effective communication verbal and written.

– Ability to thrive in uncertainty and a fast-paced driven environment.

Education:

– Master’s or PhD in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, Computational Science, or related fields.

Experience:

Must have:

– 4-8 years in R&D or technology related roles

Nice to have:

– Innovation management, or technology scouting roles

– Proven track record in delivering innovation projects, incl. with external collaborations

– Experience in regulated industries or consumer goods
